Times Square hotels & places to stay

I booked a single room with shared bathroom and I was worried if it would be noisy during night and dirty restroom but NO. It's very quiet during night and I had a good sleep in the most business city in the world. The restroom is also clean and no smell, it's like I have my own restroom. The hotel staff were doing good. I recommend this hotel for those want to visit NYC. Its location is superb, about 10 minutes to Times Square and from this location you can discover all NYC (Uptown, Downton) because it's Midtown.

We spent a week n this modest but cimfortablel hotel. It is an older hotel but it is very clean. The rooms are not big but this is New York. The staff were friendly and obliging. Yaw in particular with his lovely smile went out his way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. All the staff whether is was the housekeeping or the general staff, NEVER failed to smile and greet us. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. Coffee, tea and iced water were available 24/7 with an ice vending there for your use. The location was great. The hotel is so central with the tourist buses close by. To be able to walk out of your hotel door and be in Times Square was perfect for us. Traffic noise was not a problrm. The hiotel is in a side street and there is traffic moise but not rnough to disturb your sleep. The hotel also supply you with ear plugs shoukd you need thrm. We did not. We would most certsinly return to this hotel when next in New York!! Great value for money!

El hotel está situado justo a lado del Rockefeller Center y a un par de pasos de la 5ta avenida. Times Square queda a 10 minutos caminando. La ubicación está súper bien. El personal del hotel muy amable y las habitaciones bastante limpias. En cada piso hay botellas de plástico vacías para que las rellenes con agua purificada. El único inconveniente que tuvimos fue con el ruido de la calefacción. A veces no servía y en la madrugada se encendía automáticamente.

like everyone said, is a small hotel but CLEAN and VERY GOOD LOCATION, No complaints for small as this is Centrally located. After Broadway Show at TIMES SQUARE, we just WALK back to our hotel. If you try to save money and stay near airport, the roundtrip bus fare is $28 and if there are 2 of us, I suggest you stay in this hotel, you SAVE time and the total cost is about the same. Daniel at the front desk is VERY HELPFUL and let us check in earlier. He also introduced us how to get to places and advised us to buy tickets at their counter which is TRUE but I did not buy. if you are going to STATUE OF LIBERTY - please remember to PURCHASE your tickets at their FRONT DESK. it is cheaper and NO QUEUE at all. that's true.

The room was comfortable and modern. The elevators were small and old, so one has to plan ahead if leaving during check-out time. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and didn't keep asking for tips the way other Time Square hotels' staff members did. The lobby has free-flowing coffee and water - extremely welcome in NYC! There are also restrooms for hotel guests conveniently placed in the first floor. The Chipotle across the street and the Chinese noodle place nearby are both very tasty. Looking forward to staying here again!

the hotel was good, as and very friendly staff, however there are a couple of things that were a bit annoying, 1) the elevator was always full, we had to wait up to 3 elevators to pass (we were in the 27th floor with young kids so no way taking the stairs) and one time we had to wait 15 minutes to get the elevator, 2) there was a particular musty smell in our room, they are also very little for a family of 4 but no big issue with that and 3) very weird people outside the hotel in the benches, I think the hotel tries to keep them away, but some of them looked like if they sitted there with all their belongings, is sad but felt a little insecure. Other than that, very friendly staff, good food and delicious breakfast in the restaurant (kids eat free and the food quality was super good), and walking distance from everything.

The room was quite specious for a hotel in Time Square area. Rather thin wall with comfortable bed, and very clean small bathroom. The room comes with built-in kitchenette with kitchenware.....but hardly used for few days stay. The hotel is very close to the Big Bus tour stop and 49th st subway station. There are many eating places nearby. Overall,a pleasant stay in New York.

The air train from JFK to Jamaica followed by the LIRR train to Penn Station took 40 minutes and was really straightforward. The location of this hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Penn Station making it an excellent place to stay. The hotel is a short walking distance from the Broadway, Empire State Building, Macy's and Times Square, and is within easy reach of the fantastic High Line. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff are friendly. There is free wifi and coffee is available all day at no extra cost. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise and actually really good - a choice of hot (cinnamon rolls, pancakes, sausages, omelette, scrambled eggs) or cold (croissants, pastries, cereal, fruit) plus tea/coffee/juice was available every day and provided a good reason to get up early each morning. My wife and I, plus a 15 and 20 year old had a great time in NYC and would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a base. Thank you Holiday Inn.

This was the 4th hotel I stayed in NYC in the last 3 years. Ok maybe some rooms are not the newest ones here but hey who cares when it´s cleaned every day and you got all you need (huge TV with Remote control and sleeping timer, Bed, Bathroom, Microwave, AC, Heater, Refrigerator and free Wifi and even the mobile phone connection in the room was great...believe me those things are not always obviousness in other hotels) in addition you got the most friendliest and most service oriented hotel staff ever !!!!!! I even got a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday and if I had a question or an issue it was always answered and solved immediately. And everybody was always smiling and friendly. Didn´t matter what time of the day. Special thanks to a staff !! What a great person !!! Also thanks to the night staff who also always smiled and greeted me when I was on my way having a cigarette. If you emphasize caring, friendly and service oriented hotel staff I strongly recommend the New York Inn ! Thanks again to the New York Inn staff members who made my stay so pleasant !!! See you soon ! PS: Can´t say anything about the included breakfast because I always went out with my brother or friends...sorry.

Start by saying the kids loved this hotel. Really cute from the outside, the room was small but totally functional and modern. The rooms had Kindles at each bed which was fun and modern and cool - kids loved it and it made researching food/entertainment/maps much easier and faster. Clean and pleasant all around and our room had a great view over towards (not into) Times Square/Penn Station. HOWEVER - t this hotel has not invested in any worthwhile window coverings. At best, our window had a privacy shade kind of venetian blind - HUGE flashing billboard that shone right into the room all night. It was like sleeping under a huge TV screen - both kids had a lot of trouble sleeping with that flashing bright light. I was more ok with earplugs and eye cover, but the kids were tiiiired. Either bring fabric to cover the window or hopefully the hotel will invest in some proper light-blocking curtains...

I booked through a flash deal so got a very good price. The hotel is quirky and pineapple themed! The room was a little on the small side, however they had done their best to maximise the space available. Big TV screen, very good shower, super-comfortable bed with good quality linen, duvets and pillows, safety deposit box, and very quiet (my room wasn't overlooking the street and from what I can gather there are only a handful of rooms on each floor, so no noise from other guests). The hotel is in an excellent location. Close to Times Square and Penn Station (one block to the nearest subway). Good diners and bars very close - turn left from the hotel for the pricey ones and right for the cheaper ones! The staff are very pleasant and helpful. You can also store your luggage when you check out, to collect later. If you're looking for a hotel which is a bit quirky and different, in an excellent midtown location, with comfy beds and nice staff, I highly recommend Staypineapple.

We were not aware of the tremendous construction going on between the hotel and the Jarvis Center. The noise from the construction site was unbearable during the work day and then subsided at the end of the work day. We had a complete reprieve on Sunday which was appreciated so much. As you can tell from my ratings there are two distinct opinions about the hotel and what I would tell friends and family. The hotel, rooms, and especially the staff were top notch! The challenging part would be the construction site and resulting noise that reverberated throughout the hotel! I would want to give a balanced review so people could make up their own mind based upon this information. Of special note: the gentleman who was standing near the check-in counter and the restaurant was very helpful and kind during our entire stay. I appreciated him so much and his help. My answer is really yes knowing what you are going to experience. Thanks

We had a great time at this hotel. Breakfast and dinner was included which meant we didn’t have to go out looking for places to eat. The staff was great, very polite, helpful and always there when you needed them. The rooms was nice with a great view. The location of theis hotel is great a 2 minute walk to Time Square which was great didn’t really use any cabs as we had everything around us. The bus tours were great as we got to see the whole of New York using this service. Had a fab time.

Had a great stay here, and would certainly book here again. The hotel was near Penn station for trains, and Port Authority for buses, and a reasonable walk from Times square and broadway. The staff were helpful and genuinely friendly, and the room was a decent size while clean and freshly made daily. We didn't eat at the hotel as there was plenty of choice in the area. The only down point was the concierge giving poor directions for thetrip to the airport, and making it seem like I was the simpleton for not understanding. Shame as everyone else was lovely. William, the bartender also makes an excellent margherita!

We booked the petite room for one night, and since we booked the room in a last minute with much much cheaper price than we've expected, to be honest, we didn't really expect much (Especially because hotel was in such an useful location). But it was just GORGEOUS!! They kept our bags in the morning before we check-in, and when we came back there to properly check-in, they told us that they upgraded our room (without extra charge!). We thought we just get a slight bigger room than the petite room, but it was actually much much bigger room with 2 floors!!!! Everything was clean, amenities were great, bathroom was wonderful, bed was huge and there was a big window!!! Also as I wrote above, location was wonderful where it only takes 5 mins to walk to the main times square area on foot! We wish we could stay there longer than just one night!!! We would definitely stay here again when we will come back to Manhattan again! LOVED IT!

Our third or maybe fourth time in a row staying here when visiting New York. The location's terrific, with the heart of both Times Square and the subway just a 5 or 10-minute walk way (a couple blocks). Rooms and beds are comfortable and everything works and is always clean. The staff has always been friendly and quite helpful with everything from room arrangements to directions to an area location. The breakfast is always good; though the room is small and so seating can be tight. But we always enjoy it. I gave a Satisfactory for Facilities not because of the difficulty with parking for loading/unloading. Most of the time, I've gotten "lucky" in that there's either been a space or I was able to pull alongside someone else who looked like they weren't planning to go anywhere anytime soon; but once I had to circle around the block a couple times until space opened up. Once the key is in the valet's hands, though, no worries. The car's always been returned in a timely manner and without incident. All in all, though, we enjoy staying at this hotel and plan to stay there again and I've recommended it to a couple of other people as well.

The hotel was exceptional. The seafood bar/restaurant Legasea was awesome, my friend and I had some lovely drinks and happy hour oyster snacks. Location was great - a few blocks down from times square made it quiet enough to get a good night's sleep but close enough to the action. There was a shake shack down the block and diners that served good pancakes in the area. The staff were really attentive as well - especially since I was on a crutch! My compliments to room staff Tenzin (flr 15) as well for the prompt service and help.

I enjoyed my stay at TRYP. The best thing... Location! You walk out the front door and 50 meters away is Times Square and all the joys it has to offer. Cafe's, restaurants, bars and sightseeing. To think you're so close yet don't pay anything like the prices to stay in the square was a pleasant surprise. The hotel was undergoing a refurbishment at the time I stayed, however my room had been done and was clean and well presented. I'm sure once completed it will be even better throughout. The staff were polite and helpful and assisted me when I needed them. Enjoy your stay at TRYP Times Square.

Very affordable compared to other accommodation in similar location. Location great as it is in close walking distance to Penn Station. Able to catch train from Newark Airport to Penn Station with ease. Hotel foyer is fancy. Staff are friendly. Room looked nice and as advertised. Adequate size room. Those that have remarked on the hotel looking tired are forgetting that this hotel is of art deco style and in my opinion has been recently renovated while still keeping within its style. You won't regret booking this hotel as it is within easy walking distance to everything and most importantly not within the heart of Times Square which is very busy. Our room was on the 20th floor. There is also a gym which was great and internal access to the 24 hr Tick Tock diner.

Good location, friendly helpful staff, easy check in and out, parking garage right down the street, close to Madison Square Garden, Empire State Bldg. Only negative - I booked two rooms one with a terrace months prior to our being there. Day we arrived they said they didn't have the terrace room available any longer and had to give me another room. The room was fine but it was not what I wanted. Also, there is an outdoor deck on the 22nd floor but it is not a scenic view of the city as they said it was. Breakfast served daily was very good. I would stay again.
