Backpacking in Taiwan? Find Tainan Hostels

"I hesitated a lot before booking this hostel coz obvious it is really cheap and facilities look dated. But I will stay here again next time in Tainan. The atmosphere is great, hotel next to train station, everything is clean and staff is great. I personally saw the staff clean the facilities like every hour the night I stayed there. Staff told / invited me to join the nighty event, they have different events every night, I think there is a schedule posted next to the front desk office. I didn’t have time to enjoy the breakfast, but I did enjoy the 2nd floor and basemen common rooms, especially the basement, so cozy and spacious. After the nighty event, when almost everyone left, I took the sofa all for myself, did a 30 mins stretch, and read one of the books they provide (it’s like a little book treasure hunt). I thought the bed won’t be comfortable, yet I stand corrected, I slept like a baby. I enjoy my stay here a lot, so vibrant, alive and young. So, don’t be timid by some comments and photos. Book here!"

"Stayed at the female dorm for two nights. - Good Location: 3-min walk to Tainan train station and to a street full of local foodies. - The hostel is very new and clean. Stylishly furnished common area and kitchen. Dorm room was big, with table and chair inside the dorm room. There were spaces to put things beside each dorm bed. Lockers are huge enough to put everything including the big backpack and suitcase in too. Wifi was fast and air con was adequate. The shared bathroom was clean and shampoo, soap and conditioner were provided. - Staff was helpful and kind. I had my room changed because the locker was not functioning. Even though breakfast was not included, there were a lot of budget options around the area or you can cook yourself in the kitchen. Considering everything and the low price, it's the best hostel I stayed at in Taiwan. "

"It is located at one of the most popular spot in Tainan, where you can grab all kind of delicious Tainan local food with just a few minutes walk, staff is very nice and friendly during our accommodation, if you're the type who'd like to spend more on eating and save more on staying, this is a very nice place for you!"

"Clean, tidy, and extremely comfortable room with bean bag and place to relax. Guests are also allowed to refill water from the front desk. Hidden inside a small alley, and within walking distance (10 - 30 minutes) to most attractions or bus stands. The nearest bus station where you can take free connector bus to high speed rail station of Tainan is about 15 minutes walk away. The only downside is check-in time is 4pm, you're only allowed to deposit luggage and cannot enter the building to rest if you arrive before that. Other than that, everything is perfect. Definitely my first choice if I ever go to Tainan again."

"Really enjoyed my stay there, really enjoyed Tainan. Would love to return to this city for more, and would definitely consider staying there again. Booked a double room, spacious, plenty of room for 2 big luggages. With table and side table. Toilet is cleaner than the picture seems, really satisfied with that. The lobby area is a gem. Full of books, magazines, pamphlets, things to entertain you and let you know more about Tainan or anywhere. Really interesting! Spent my night fiddling with the materials there. Staffs are the most most most helpful people I've met. Nice and polite! Only they don't work 24hrs, so please settle what you need to ask before they knock off. Location is superb. Just rent their bicycle and ride around. Plenty of alleys to go into and explore! "

"365 hostel is located pretty near the Tainan TRA station. About 5 mins taxi ride or 20 minutes walk from the station. It is also located near many amazing Tainan local eateries and near some pretty good cocktail bars like TCRC and Longbar. The owner and his staff are very friendly and will chat you up. If you ask, they might go for a drink with you and tell you where to go for good food. The boss is an interior designer and he is a great person to have a conversation with. Very comfortable and homely vibes for 365 hostel. "
