Upper Normandy hotels & accommodations

After a very friendly reception and parking the holiday-packed car in a locked garage we had an inquisitive look around our room.We were very pleased with our room in the first floor with view to the rugby stadium. GREEN. Bathroom had a very spacious modern shower cubicle of 120x90 cm-we use the same at home. The installations were modern and tastefull. Furniture was f...

I stayed in room 341 which I highly recommend (romantic imo, so great for couples); it probably has the best view on the cathedral and a large bathroom. It is the top corner room in the building, last floor by stairs. Very good quality place, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was great, with lots of choice.

We use this as a stopover to our holiday home several times a year. It accepts our two dogs and is just off the motorway so while not scenic is so convenient and next to a handful of good places to eat and drink. Also has kettle in room - a bonus these days.

The hotel is just superb. The construction is several centuries old (15 or 16th I guess). It's located just above one of the best restaurant in town. You don't have to walk to get there ! The breakfast is also excellent. The service is simple, but good. A very nice lady from Texas living in the city is working at the hotel. It makes the communication much easier ! Th...

The hotel location is excellent - along hill slope that you can either walk to the beach or enjoy seaview at a higher level easily. Restaurant is nice with good food at reasonable price. The hotel environment is quiet and makes people feel relaxed. Parking lot is spacious. Staff can speak fluent English and very helpful.

We stayed at this Ibis budget and found it to be a comfortable stopover. Breakfast was ample and we shared the experience with a number of Gendarmes who were staying there also. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One word of warning, there is limited options for an evening meal after checking in. We directed to the Courtpaille which is a few hundred metres from ...

The hotel was fine, suited our purpose (we have been there before), and the location is OK. We appreciate the free parking at the back of the hotel - off the main road. We did think that the menu price was a little higher than it should have been, but the food was fine. Somebody should look at the English translation of the menus on the menu card, it is a hoot! If ...

This hotel is right by the Seine river, is easy to find without going into the town centre and you can park on the road outside the hotel for free on Sundays and use their car park for all other days which is in the basement of the Mercure hotel next to the hotel for 60fr per hour. The Ibis rooms are basic but modern and are certainly fine for 1 or 2 nights plus they p...

We had an overnight stay here while travelling from Liverpool to Normandy and that is all we could have handled ! We had requested 2 twin rooms as travelling with our teenage children but were given doubles. One room had a broken light which meant you needed to use the bathroom light to see anything after dark. Although clean and functional, it was extremely basic and ...

We only stayed one night as we were travelling from Dordogne to Calais but it was a comfortable clean nights stay. It’s easy to miss so perhaps some clearer instructions on the slip road might help as Sat Nav, using the actual address took us to the other side if the carriageway. On our particular night the service in the restaurant was very slow but we had no other a...
Cheap places to stay in Upper Normandy

Arab rude staffs and arabs guests who talk really loud until 5:00am. I could not sleep and the hotel smell like the toilet. The same staff who clean the room, work in information as well. It took 3 hours to check in for me! I arrived at 12am and I had my room at 15:00! Then they said it’s exceptional!

The room facilities and breakfast were of a good standard. However., the shower was over the bath and there were no grab rails provided which made for potentially dangerous showering. The most disappointing aspect of the room was the 'air conditioning',. As it was hot at the time we were in Rouen, I specifically selected a hotel which had air conditioned rooms. When w...

One night in August: smooth check in, staff had acknowledged my request for the bed and it was done in 2 mn very professionally. Quiet, comfortable single room with all expected amenities and conveniently located. Still, I remember visiting this hotel nearly 10y ago and absolutely nothing has changed, deco feels worn out. Very small jacuzzi and if you look at the roof ...

We enjoyed a wonderful night at La Maison De Lalette. the dear Lalette and Jan were wonderful hosts who couldn't do enough for us. They made us a wonderful lunch and a spectacular breakfast.
