Pros: excellent location, beautiful view from our hotel window, good sound insulation towards the street, good check-in/check-out process, good bed Cons: uncomfortable pillows, tight space, and tiny shower with fluctuating water temperatures Conclusion: this is a great hotel if you'll be spending most of your day out exploring Bordeaux. The hotel location is really excellent, and the prices reasonable. The spaces are tight, but if you don't mind, this hotel is excellent value.

Quiet area about 10 minutes rom the town of St Emilion.. Gorgeous property set amongst the vineyards, and next to one you can have free wine tasting. The spa at the château has a hammam. sauna, & pool although it closes promptly at 7 pm. Don't, I repeat don't miss.the outstanding dinner there! The meal, wine, ambiance, & attentive service combined to make it the best dining experience we had during our two month travels through Europe!

Fabulous hotel for our short overnight stay in Bordeaux. We booked this hotel as it was very close to the centre of the city and had access to a nearby carpark. The hotel is an oasis of calm with a great outside courtyard in which to sit with a drink and relax. Our room was luxurious with a spa, huge bathroom (with complimentary Hermes toiletries) and tea/coffee making facilities. The buffet breakfast had to be seen to be believed, so many delicious choices - the best of our trip. Hotel guests pay a reduced rate at the carpark which was literally around the corner. We needed to use the car that evening and the friendly hotel staff printed out a 'receipt' to show the carpark staff; we paid only the 10 Euro for 24 hours and could enter and exit as needed. As it was so close to the city centre we were able to walk everywhere and see the main sights in a short space of time. We also made use of the hire bikes that can be found in several places in the city centre. There was a bike pickup/drop off just outside our carpark near the hotel. We would love to stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel only one days. The hotel's location is good because it can reach by tram (400 meters from the tram station), about 10 minutes from the city center. The reception is friendly and helpful. The room's condition was very clean and very good. The room's facilities was very good because there was a small but complete kitchen inside. We didn't know the quality of breakfast because we can cooked ourself. In conclusion, we were very satisfy at this hotel and we will not hesitate to stay at this hotel for the next time in Bordeaux.

good value and good location we stayed three times on this visit. First time we had no internet in the room, but next two nights there was no problem. Second night toilet would not flush and we got another room with no fuss. Altogether we did not mind this hotel and would recommend it based on excellent value for money, lots of places to eat near by and short drive to old town.

this was a great hotel on a quiet residential street on the outskirts of the town centre of Bordeaux, but easy walking distance to all the sights and restaurants. We only had one night there and it was very comfortable, with friendly staff, a nice terrace on which to have drinks served, and luxurious room amenities. We stayed in the secret room with its own courtyard terrace. It was a little on the small side but not tiny, and certainly large enough to move around in w our suitcases, and we loved the uniquely tiled bathroom. Great value for a 5* hotel!

Great location, very polite staff (Dimitri is very helpful and funny). The room was fantastic. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the main shopping street (rue Ste. Catherine) and from the river bank. This is a very discreet boutique style hotel, so it is a little difficult to find it in the street. There is only a small sign to indicate you have arrived. Don't expect to see a neon sign saying "Hotel". But this adds to the charm. If you are driving, hotel parking is very close. Be sure to inform the hotel you need car park

The room was very close to the downtown core. it was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. However, there were some issues. There are only two outlets in the entire room and those were across the room under the desk. So I had to get under the desk to plug anything in. There is no outlet near the bed. As I have sleep apnea, I had to snake the cord across the room to plug it in. Not very convenient or safe. Also, they gave me only 2 towels, but wanted me to reuse them. there was no hand towel or wash cloth. If I have to use my bath towel to dry my hands, I need a different towel for my bath. They also have soap only in containers that are attached to the wall and shower wall. My soap in the shower was empty and the maid didn't replace it, even though I took the top (or bottom cover as it was) off and left it as an indicator. I had to call to get soap replaced and then he showed up unprepared to unscrew the holder to replace it.

The most important component of our 4 night stay, was the air conditioning, especially as temperatures reached record highs. (The day after we left, the forecast was for 41 deg C. - 106 F) All hotel beds are too hard for my personal use, and give me a back ache, but my mattress topper helped alleviate that problem. The restaurant food was good, with a buffet breakfast, multiple choice coffee machine, and a good selection of main meals in the evening, at reasonable prices, with the option of a buffet starter, and a buffet sweet. We didnt sample the midday meals, as we were in Bordeaux during the day, but there is no reason to suspect that they were not of the same standard as all other meals. The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The location on the auto-route junction means that it is easy to access, traffic permitting, and easy to travel into Bordeaux from there. The style is typically motel. Would I stay there again? Certainly, it would be my first choice.

hello, i highly recommend this hotel: - great location (main shops right on doorstep) - modern and clean rooms - excellent service - good hotel amenities (steam room, small gym) that is rare for bordeaux hotels - good transport (regular bus from airport stops nearby and bus to train station next to hotel) - value for money i would like to make a special note on the staff who were very helpful at all times: i left some of my belongings in the hotel, and the staff very kindly arranged to send them to me in asia for a small fee of euro 10. i highly recommend this hotel.

In the heart of the historical center, on a quiet pedestrian side street. Just because a street is pedestrian, doesn't guarantee you a quiet sleep...this is a college town with lots of students who stay out late and congregate at corners, bars, plazas, pedestrian streets, etc. Note: the closest Uber can drop you is 2 short blocks away but a bit confusing in which direction - I used my GPS and had no trouble. Rooms are small but have everything you need.

It is situated between Bordeaux (20 minutes by car) and the west bank of the river, where the best wine regions are located, like Margot and Pauillac, which is perfect! The rooms are very spacious and clean and the building is a well preserved Chateaux, just in front of the river. Breakfast is basic with only a few options but is more than ok and everything was tasty. I highly recommend Chateau Grattequina Hotel for your stay in the Bordeaux area.

Excellent standards, worth the 3.20 euros return to access on buses, as a long walk to and from the airport. The only downside is the lack of suitable vegetarian options in campanile sister hotel. Did not even meet a simple request for some form of protein with a buffet, even after I made the booking and it was agreed a boiled egg would be provided. Told only for the special booked sports. party

Great location! Was expecting a larger cabin as I have stayed there before, but cabin was small and cramped as we were 3 friends. No amenities at all, no toilet paper, no sheets, no towels - all these are at an extra cost as is wifi. Gates locked at night, so you have to park out in a car park on the street if you come in late. And you have to do an inventory when you arrive of the dishes etc. that are in your cabin. I wouldn’t stay here again as I like to be a little more comfortable. Great your younger people.

Driving from Lisbon back to the UK we needed a one night stopover somewhere in between. Frankly our experiences of budget hotels around here have been poor, HOWEVER this was a REALLY GOOD find. Th price was excellent when we stayed, at around €26 for the night. This is a basic, no frills motel located just under 2km from the motorway, is easy to find and car parking is free. We arrived way after midnight, which was no problem at all. When we inspected our room it was all we could need for a short stay: * Very clean and tidy * Modern décor * Comfortable, large sized bed with quality bedding * Modern, well equipped bathroom with good shower and heated mirror * Free Wi-Fi * TV * Coffee and tea-making facilities * A good sized room for a short stay The negatives include its close proximity to the airport (but we didn't hear any aircraft) and road network - which could also count as positives! We did not try any food so cannot comment, but breakfast and dinner were both available at extra cost.

Le Grand Hotel is a quite nice hotel. Standard of what you can expect from the Best Western chain. A bit far from the train station. You still can walk there, though. Easy to find. On the main street. There is a supermarket nearby. Room and bathroom are quite big. Old style decoration, but clean. TV and fridge in room. Computer with internet near reception. Staffs are nice. Sights nearby.

I booked this hotel specifically as it offered parking. On arrival was told by a very rude hotel receptionist that the car park was full, and to park in the street. During our stay, I never saw one car enter or leave the car park. If you can't offer something don't advertise it, if I'd have known about the car park situation I would have booked elsewhere.i did manage to park in the street about 1km away from the hotel, but when you're in an unfamiliar city it's not ideal.
