We stayed at Motto Times Square for four night and we honestly loved it so very much. We booked a room for three people, we got a bunk bed with a bed comfortable for two people at the bottom while our daughter had her own on the bunk. I won’t lie, the room is very very small so set your expectations well. It didn’t bother us much as we were out and about all day. The rooms were very clean and organized. It was very new and had modern styles. No smells of humidity at all. The beds were super comfortable with comforters and fluffy pillows that don’t hurt your neck. The AC’s are a little loud when turned on, so if you’re sensitive to sound, be ready to sleep with the AC off. The bathroom and shower are next to each other but can be used simultaneously as the sliding doors are separate. Be aware that there are no microwaves in the room however, you can ask the reception for a kettle and they will happily provide it for you. We also had a quaint view of Times Square which was nice too. What is super attractive is that you’re literally on Times Square for a great price. Everything is in walking distance including the subway when needed. The hotel lobby was so pleasant to walk through as it smelled so amazing with their signature smell. The features include two free bottles daily, reception also provides mini bottles if needed. You also get one free 30 minute bike ride on citibike every day. We loved our stay overall and would definitely come back.
The subway station and bus stop are both close by, and it's a one-minute walk to the main street of Times Square. As soon as you come out, Times Square is immediately to the left. It seems like it would be noisy since it’s so close, but I didn’t notice any noise at all. There is a luggage storage service, and since it's included in the room cost, I used to buy bread and coffee every morning from the café on the first floor. One downside was that it was on the lower floors, and it felt like only East Asians were gathered there? I’m not very good at English, and the staff spoke so quickly that it was hard to understand. Even when I asked them to speak slowly, they still spoke fast. They were a bit aloof. Still, the accommodation size was decent, and there was enough room for two large suitcases, so I think I’ll use this budget hotel again next time I go to New York.
I recently stayed at this hotel and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly cooperative and friendly, making me feel welcome and valued. The location is unbeatable, with all the excitement of Times Square right outside the door. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the city. The service throughout my stay was top-notch, with staff going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in New York City. They have also refunded the whole security deposit as I told them I haven’t used the room service.
The service is unexceptional. The place is very clean. The location is in the center of Time Square. I’ll be back again for sure.

“Great Location, but Too Many Issues”
Pros: - Excellent location — just steps away from Time Square, the metro, and bus stops - Sleek, modern interiors with a beautiful lobby - Comfy beds Cons: - Pricey considering the extremely small room size - False fire alarm went off twice during a night (2AM and 4AM) - Air-conditioning barely worked during our stay; despite multiple requests, it was never properly fixed. The engineer would just come up and restart it each time. - Service was hit or miss. While John was genuinely helpful and accommodating (especially regarding our A/C issue), a couple of staff members left a terrible impression. One male and one female staff member (both Latinx, with the male wearing glasses) were consistently rude and dismissive — acting like a clique and making guests feel unwelcome. Their behavior was the exact opposite of what you’d expect in hospitality and unfortunately soured our experience. -The elevator system is frustratingly inefficient. You have to tap your card and select your floor before it assigns you an elevator — but it often causes delays. Many guests miss their assigned elevator or end up waiting while empty ones go up without them. It’s a clunky system that just slows everything down. Overall, I really loved the location but it's my first time having experienced this many issues that I would recommend the hotel but with warnings.
