Hotels near Temple of the Six Banyan Trees

Wow, so first I'm a 50yo traveller who spends a lot of time in upmarket hotels. I'm not easily impressed, and prefer niche brands like Banyan Tree over the Hyatt/Hilton larger market brands. Add to that, my expectations of Guangzhou were a little trepidatious. So imagine our surprise when we found such a luxery hotel, with simply the best bed I have ever slept in, and the most diverse and extravagant breakfast I have seen anywhere incl Thailand holiday resorts (well done to F&B manager Adam). Seriously, DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST! Concierge staff were definitely helpful (you need that in China!), and checkin/out was very efficient too. All round, 5/5 on every dimension.

The Hotel was a good choice. It seems five star. Everybody was friendly. Staffs performance is excellent and they speak English well. It is very comfortable, clean and quiet. The food was fresh and delicious. It is early renovated. It has massage and swimming pools on the top of the building. it is really nice. You can do lots of things after an exhausting business day. I suggest it to choose. The backstage of the hotel not too nice.

Stayed here for total 6 night ~ overall was very satisfied with the price i pay for . 1st 2 night we booked for budget boutique room which was very small , then when we return from hongkong , we booked for Deluxe room which just few dollar difference but alot bigger and comfort . The best of this hotel is they provide inroom Desktop PC , daily housekeeping to keep the room clean and fresh , in china hardly to get new clean room at this price,important is the toilet is clean too . more else is very convenience ,7-11 just few step away ,there is few shopping centre accross the road , MTR just 5-8minutes walk , many attraction is nearby the only downside is next to temple and theres a school behind this hotel .but not big deal and we leave our room early .

Considering that most hotel rooms in nearby Hong Kong are high-cost tiny cubicles, the prices at Yingbin are stunningly low. It's a 5-star hotel in elegant facilities and accoutrements. Our room was huge -- about 325 sq ft. All the finishings were in marble, with updated bathrooms. Very comfortable and huge bed. Excellent location -- we were able to walk easily to Beijing Road, and the historical areas of Liwan -- not to mention falling out of the hotel into shoping, shopping, shopping and eating, eating, eating: both the specialities of Guangzhou. It also has the tremendous convenience in its compound (lovely, by the way) of an bus service hourly to Hong Kong-Kowloon and Hong Kong airport (saving the traveler the schlepp back to the train station and then further transport to HK airport). Compare the price of this formerly government hotel for high-level guests to international chains -- it's less than a quarter of their prices! For us, the place was excellent.

I have stay few other hotel in Guangzhou with 4 star standard and price is pretty close. I must share that this hotel Asia Int'l is one beautiful hotel and the rooms are big. The setting of the furniture, TV, Lighting, keyless entry, bed and also the toilet has it's class. The minute I step into the hotel lobby, the front desk staffs greet with a big smile. When i reach my room, the key to the door has a class with good sensor and produce a nice music. when I enter the room i was in complete shock to find that the room is so well furnish and everything look so new and nice. I love the bed as they are soft and the way the set up inside the room is so pleasant that you just refuse to get out of your room. Most importantly that I enjoy my stay in this hotel. I must say that you stay there and you will know what i mean. I will go back to this hotel again for all my business trip and if my staff visit Guangzhou of Business trip I will put them in this hotel too.

we stayed for 8 days and got the non-smoking room on 13th floor which is non-smoking floor. this is great since most of china hotels rarely provide non-smoking floor just take the ash tray out from your room if you request for non-smoking room. from outside the hotel may look a little bit old but inside seems it has been renovated lately. the decoration is nice and neatness. we got the double bed room with separated working area in which working table and lan with free internet are provided. second floor is chinese restaurant with serving cantonese food and great dim sum. we have had dim sum there almost every morning and the quality of dim sum is as good as or better than some of the famous dim sum reataurant in guangzhou i have tried. the restaurant is operated from 7:00 am to 5:00 am in the morning or almost around the clock, so when you come back to the hotel late at night after shopping, you still can have good cantonese food or bowl of congee late at night. area around the hotel also there are so many local small eateries and restaurants to try out. some are also very good for wonton and roasted duck. guang xiao famous temple and liu rong temple are approx. 500 meters from the hotel that you can walk there. beijing lu shopping street and chen clan academy are both one station away on mrt with diferent side. certainly will stay here again if visit guangzhou.

Pros: 1. The location of the hotel is great. Its very centralized with loads of eateries around it. 2. The theme of the hotel is cool, together with its various deco, all of which blend in nicely. 3. The staffs were friendly. The bell boys were quick to help with our luggage every time we alight from the taxi. 4. Its very easy to get hold of a taxi there compared to the last hotel I stayed, which is Joven Star Hotel. 5. The room was clean and tidied up nicely the next day. 6. For this price, you probably have to pay at least 30% more for other hotel. 7. A 24-hour mart is just next door on the right of the hotel. 8. The Macau restaurant on the right too (level 2) offers nice food at value for money prices. Do ask for the set meal menu for bangs on your bucks! 9. Every cabby seemed to know this hotel compared to the last two I have stayed where the drivers had to scratch their head hard to figure out where they were! I heard from one of the cabbies that this hotel is more than 20 years old and well-know around GZ. 10. The WI-FI in the room is an absolute +++ point of the hotel! 11. Need I say more? Cons: 1. The “mini” supermarket offers little goods and essentials. 2. The saloon looks doggy and old. 3. The TV in the room is very small. 16” for that room size! 4. The safe box is extremely hard to figure out how to use it. Took me 20mins!!! (tip: after step 1 which is to ‘activate” the safe, step 2 is to lock the safe before step 3 which is to key in the password! Weird!!!)

Pros: 1) Clean towels and clean sheets 2) Personal caring items are equipped 3) The female counter staff who works at the 12am shift speaks good English 4) Trendy decorations - a fusion of contemporary western art and traditcanton style decors. 5) Impressive toilet setting Cons: 1) Although I knew this is one of those boutique hotels, the setting of the queen room with windows can be rearranged better. The Queen Bed is placed in the middle of the room which leaves a 15cm gap between the rear end and the wall which a TV is also mounted. It means every time when u need to walk from one side of the room to the other (the desk and toilet, for example), you need to bend over and squeeze through the gap between the bed and wall. Well, inconvenient setting. 2) Thin walls. 3) While the background music in the corridors boosts up the ambience a bit, it is rather annoying cos the walls are so thin that you can hear the ding dong sounds throughout the night.

We were offered fruit platter on arrival after going to two hotels previously with one booked in processing status though agoda but no rooms was available and the other hotel said they are not connected to booking.com the partner of agoda anymore and require around 150-300+CNY more on top of the booking price due to the high demand of rooms in the area although a confirmation was given. We were most relieved later on (3hours+wasted upon leaving the train from Guangzhou East) as I called the counter of Crowne Plaza the second time that they finally found my booking as they said on the first call the reference number does not belong to them. Anyways thanks for the hotel's services and the room was even quipped with Chinese tea pots beautifully presented and a spectacular view for guests with club benefits if you pay slightly higher prices for it. Joined their membership hence welcome vouchers were distributed to us and we had a relaxed time and enjoyed the countdown-evening in room.

The Hotel had everything we needed! Staff were friendly and helpful and one lady manager in particular spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful in answering any questions we had regarding places to go and how to get there ! A big thank you to her! Unfortunately I've forgotten her name! The hotel is walking distance to 2 metro stations and there are a lot of different eateries close by as well as convenience stores. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Guangzhou ! Just be aware that although it says on most booking sites it has a pool it doesn't!

I had a very pleasant and relaxed stay at this hotel. Breakfast was very good too. All of their staffs were friendly and especially Sandy, the manager, was a very talented and helpful for her guests. She kept checking with me if all was okay with my stays and tried to provide the best service as much as possible. The facilities and amenities are pretty satisfactory. They have a small van that offers a free travel between the hotel and the Canton fair. However, keep in mind that the seat is limited (up to 6 ppl or so) so it can be fully booked quickly. You better check the availability with the hotel in advance. The only downside of this hotel for me was the location. It has a beautiful view of the Pearl River but is located on the busy street. They have a night club across the street so it can be a bit noisy at night - even thought it didn't really bother me when I was sleeping. If you like nightlife, this may be good for you. Overall, this hotel was a very nice to stay. I loved this small boutique hotel and will probably stay again in my next trip!

This hotel is definetly value for money as it is probably the cheapest 4 star hotel in the district. Breakfast is cheap at 60rmb and the scenary is very relaxing and peaceful. Rooms are comfortable however,the only downfall is that the TV needs to be plasma and more english channels required. The hotel has many social facilities that one may indulge in and enjoy. Have stayed there previously and will stay there again in the future.

I stayed in this hotel for the canton fair from 17th - 19th april. The hotel provided free shuttle bus service from & to the fair. THis was great as it saved alot of time for taxi which is impossible to get after 4.30pm. Eventually we saved few hundred rmb on taxi alone. I had booked the River view standard which was great indeed. The view from the room was plesant at night time once all the lighting comes on. Very very relaxing. Also, Beijing Lu is jus 5 mins walk from the hotel , river was stones throw away & the Canton tv tower was approx 10-15mins taxi ride . The rooms were gd , breakfast was ok. As it was during the canton fair period so we had to pay 2.5times more of the actual cost. Recommended hotel for canton fair visit during morning time and city tour at night. Serves dual purpose.

I got a room for $28 or so on Agoda. Was beyond any expectations. Was very clean, comfortable. Very nice to have free bottles of water to drink. Shower was fine. Had the best dumplings of my life at the Dim Sum/Tea restaurant on the 5th floor. Also a massage place on the 6th floor (I forget if that's the 6th but you can ask). And, a Starbucks on the 1st floor! What more to ask for. The Hotel staff kindly let me leave my luggage at the Hotel for a night for free when I went out of town. Overall, recommend!

If you are looking a excellent hotel strategically located near metro, attractions, public transportation, shopping centers, street food and restaurants. There is also 24 hour convenience marts and street food around the corner. This hotel is a great place to rest and refresh after a day tour around the city and embark on a new adventure the next day. If you are a stay in the hotel all day guest to enjoy the pool, gym or hotel spa you won't find it in this hotel. There is also no hotel parking. There is a paid parking bay a few buildings down the block.

I was there for only one night. It is a pity that I have to check out early in the morning. I wish I could stay back for a whole day to enjoy the comfort of the room and the cosy ambience at the roof top terrace and outdoor alfresco. The management really pay attention to detail, they provide good quality toiletaries in their wel layout bathroom. For those who wish to travel by MRT there are 2 lines with 5 minutes walk from the hotel. For the price I paid it is beyond my expectation. I will definately come back again.

Halal restaurant at 2nd floor (Turkish Restaurant) Chinese halal muslim restaurant just 5 minutes walk in front of the hotel buildings 4 minutes walk to Xiaobei metro station (underground light transit train) -most important thing to consider- 5 minutes train (1 stop) to Mosque 5 minutes walk to Halal groceries. Qibla sign in room. Great hospitalities, helpful receptionist and manager. clean, comfort, and peaceful room. toilet with pipe hose (giler enko nak selet2 lepas membuang)..muslims really love this! i’ll stay again for sure! best ever hotel for muslim!

the hotel is walking distance to the xi men kou station and 16 min walk to Beijing road if you want to do alot of clothes shopping. ample choices of restaurant around the hotel. To go site seeing like chan family academy is just 1 train stop away. however for those with sensitive noses, you may not like the chemical smell of the room once you check in, after a day or two, the smell would subside. also, the drainage system of the bathroom is not the best as it always get 'flooded' after shower, but if you are not sharing bathroom with a roommate then that wont be a major issue. overall, I would stay in this hotel again if I visit guangzhou in future.

my stays at the king garden go back four years. management used a lot of trainees at the front desk, but they now have professional supervision and enough english to get by for english speakers. the b building has the more attractive rooms and public space the a building is the best value in town. with an agoida discount the b building is value for money. buffet breakfast is copious, gym is a bonus. the hotel restaurant is among the better cantonese cuisines in town. maintenance remains a weak point. safes usually need battery replacement. hand shower work but overhead shower is nonfunctional in many rooms. after four years you'd think someone would fix them. house staff are helpful though without english. setting, value, amenities are all plusses.
