Pros: excellent location, beautiful view from our hotel window, good sound insulation towards the street, good check-in/check-out process, good bed Cons: uncomfortable pillows, tight space, and tiny shower with fluctuating water temperatures Conclusion: this is a great hotel if you'll be spending most of your day out exploring Bordeaux. The hotel location is really excellent, and the prices reasonable. The spaces are tight, but if you don't mind, this hotel is excellent value.

Fabulous hotel for our short overnight stay in Bordeaux. We booked this hotel as it was very close to the centre of the city and had access to a nearby carpark. The hotel is an oasis of calm with a great outside courtyard in which to sit with a drink and relax. Our room was luxurious with a spa, huge bathroom (with complimentary Hermes toiletries) and tea/coffee making facilities. The buffet breakfast had to be seen to be believed, so many delicious choices - the best of our trip. Hotel guests pay a reduced rate at the carpark which was literally around the corner. We needed to use the car that evening and the friendly hotel staff printed out a 'receipt' to show the carpark staff; we paid only the 10 Euro for 24 hours and could enter and exit as needed. As it was so close to the city centre we were able to walk everywhere and see the main sights in a short space of time. We also made use of the hire bikes that can be found in several places in the city centre. There was a bike pickup/drop off just outside our carpark near the hotel. We would love to stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel only one days. The hotel's location is good because it can reach by tram (400 meters from the tram station), about 10 minutes from the city center. The reception is friendly and helpful. The room's condition was very clean and very good. The room's facilities was very good because there was a small but complete kitchen inside. We didn't know the quality of breakfast because we can cooked ourself. In conclusion, we were very satisfy at this hotel and we will not hesitate to stay at this hotel for the next time in Bordeaux.

this was a great hotel on a quiet residential street on the outskirts of the town centre of Bordeaux, but easy walking distance to all the sights and restaurants. We only had one night there and it was very comfortable, with friendly staff, a nice terrace on which to have drinks served, and luxurious room amenities. We stayed in the secret room with its own courtyard terrace. It was a little on the small side but not tiny, and certainly large enough to move around in w our suitcases, and we loved the uniquely tiled bathroom. Great value for a 5* hotel!

Great location, very polite staff (Dimitri is very helpful and funny). The room was fantastic. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the main shopping street (rue Ste. Catherine) and from the river bank. This is a very discreet boutique style hotel, so it is a little difficult to find it in the street. There is only a small sign to indicate you have arrived. Don't expect to see a neon sign saying "Hotel". But this adds to the charm. If you are driving, hotel parking is very close. Be sure to inform the hotel you need car park

The room was very close to the downtown core. it was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. However, there were some issues. There are only two outlets in the entire room and those were across the room under the desk. So I had to get under the desk to plug anything in. There is no outlet near the bed. As I have sleep apnea, I had to snake the cord across the room to plug it in. Not very convenient or safe. Also, they gave me only 2 towels, but wanted me to reuse them. there was no hand towel or wash cloth. If I have to use my bath towel to dry my hands, I need a different towel for my bath. They also have soap only in containers that are attached to the wall and shower wall. My soap in the shower was empty and the maid didn't replace it, even though I took the top (or bottom cover as it was) off and left it as an indicator. I had to call to get soap replaced and then he showed up unprepared to unscrew the holder to replace it.

Couldn’t have chosen a better location for our stay. The hotel is very central, just off the main shopping street, but this said- it’s very quiet. You are surrounded by a number of lovely restaurant but do not expect the hotel to be noisey, as it’s not at all. It’s a 5 minute walk to the river where you can walk down the the Cite du Vin in peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need in them. Complimentary bottled water is provided and a coffee Nepresso machine, which was a luxury! We asked for more capsules when we ran out and they were provided no hassle. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel as we didn’t want a large meal, quite happy with a pain au chocolate as we walked... Overall I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, a must stay for anyone who wants to leave the hotel in the mornings to start their day of exploring and you are already there!!

hello, i highly recommend this hotel: - great location (main shops right on doorstep) - modern and clean rooms - excellent service - good hotel amenities (steam room, small gym) that is rare for bordeaux hotels - good transport (regular bus from airport stops nearby and bus to train station next to hotel) - value for money i would like to make a special note on the staff who were very helpful at all times: i left some of my belongings in the hotel, and the staff very kindly arranged to send them to me in asia for a small fee of euro 10. i highly recommend this hotel.

In the heart of the historical center, on a quiet pedestrian side street. Just because a street is pedestrian, doesn't guarantee you a quiet sleep...this is a college town with lots of students who stay out late and congregate at corners, bars, plazas, pedestrian streets, etc. Note: the closest Uber can drop you is 2 short blocks away but a bit confusing in which direction - I used my GPS and had no trouble. Rooms are small but have everything you need.

I booked this hotel specifically as it offered parking. On arrival was told by a very rude hotel receptionist that the car park was full, and to park in the street. During our stay, I never saw one car enter or leave the car park. If you can't offer something don't advertise it, if I'd have known about the car park situation I would have booked elsewhere.i did manage to park in the street about 1km away from the hotel, but when you're in an unfamiliar city it's not ideal.

I booked this hotel from Australia for 2 nights for my daughter who was travelling to Bordeaux to meet up with friends. She said the hotel was in a great location which was our primary concern. She stayed an the extra night although they were very flexible and said she could stay one or two nights. She was allowed to leave here luggage there till the afternoon. The staff were very helpful and she had no complaints about the hotel. She did not eat at the hotel so although I put a 5 because it all had to be filled in the food in Bordeaux was brilliant, the segment had to be filled in.

The name is a bit misleading - it suggests a Bed and Breakfast place, but the hotel is actually seven storeys high and has many many rooms. I arrived at Bordeaux St Jean railway station - the main station - but taxi drivers were reluctant to drive me to the hotel saying that it was just a short distance to walk. Well ... yes ... it is not all that far - just a couple of kilometres ... but with luggage it is abit of a hike. Far, far easier is to exit the station and head right to the "C" line tram station and take a tram just three stops heading South - is - LEFT - as you leave the station. The hotel is at Place Terre Neuves tram stop immediately over the footpath from the tram stop - very easy and very convenient. My room - on request - had a large bed and was a disabled room so all bathroom fittings designed for wheelchair users. Good lighting, opening windows, small work desk (no mini bar or refrigerator), two elevators, good breakfast (EUR 6.00 or so extra) and a small common "kitchen" area with a microwave and food and drink coin-operated dispensers. Within two minutes' walk are a pharmacy, a large supermarket, a bakery, a restaurant and bar. Reception staff can sell you tram tickets.

It was rather hot in the room without air-conditioning or fan. Internet was reliable and staff was friendly. The best thing is it is well equipped for those who want to cook and do not want to stay in the busy city area. It would be better if you stay here in the cooler months. There were mosquitos when the windows were left open and noise from cars passing by or people smoking outside may be a little disturbing. The bed and bathroom was great though.

It was a small room, but just enough to feel accommodated. If you are spending a lot of time in your room IN BORDEAUX???! then you are doing it wrong. Go outside and see what a beautiful city this is. For the amount of time you SHOULD spend in your hotel room, this is awesome enough. Breakfast is very simple. Just the general French style of croissants and cold meats/cheese, cereals, fruits and boiled eggs. It is right next to Gare St Jean so very convenient to get in and out of Bordeaux. The trams are right outside too. They were undergoing a bit of renovation so it looked a bit dingey, but hopefully once this is done, it will look great.

Great location. Just a few minutes away from N1 airport bus stop. Few minutes walk from city centre. Very quite location. Spacious room. Big bathroom & very comfy bed. Nicely furnished & decorated. Very clean. Excellent value for money. We had a very comfortable stay and were very satisfied with the hotel room & location. We would have liked it even more if breakfast were included, but hey, you are in France and you can get a decent breakfast in any bar. In fact there was a lovely "Patisserie" few minutes up the road that offered a tremendous selection of pastries & good coffee.

Gostei muito, voltarei para ficar no Hotel Gambetta. - Fantastic hotel, the location of this hotel is perfect and allows everyone to do everything in the center. Thoroughly recommend it! The room and bathroom small but great and clean. The service is wonderful, very friendly and ready to help in everything. I really enjoyed going back to stay at Hotel Gambetta.

The hotel is located 10 mins walk from the river Garonne. Rooms are fairly small and decorated French style, i.e. with yellow walls and dark red drapings and lamps. Has a nice yard where you can enjoy breakfast (not always included in the price) for 10 euro. It is clean and practical, about 35 euros from the airport. The street is not much so you will have to walk for 2-3 mins to get to hangout areas. Our room had a TV and a bathroom with shower. All in all convenient and value for money, but nothing special and not the best for a romantic trip. No elevator so people with kids probably want to stay on the ground floor.

Nice sized bedrooms with lovely outdoor area for dining. Internet connection very slow and filters in and out but bearable. My only complaint was the lack of transparency with the airport transfer: the hotel organised a taxi from the hotel to the airport and I was overcharged at Euros 45! Bear in mind that this hotel is not even in the city centre and only takes 15 min to drive to the airport. The hotel and the driver claimed that a surcharge at the discretion of the driver was charged..... the hotel really should be forewarning their clients and broker a fixed price for their guests, as well as propose different transport options to their guests. The return taxi ride was almost 1/2 the price of 1 x night hotel room!!!!
