Around 20 mins walking distance to shopping area and commercial center The room is very spaicious and the staff are helpful. I love this room very much and I will definitely book this hotel again if I go Lyon again. The only thing is the church nearby rings the bell every hours or every half hour in the morning so if you are easily wake up by sound, you may not able to sleep late.

This was my first hotel in France and when I stepped into the room I thought I was starring in a French comedy. The room had a bed and not much space for anything else; and a bathroom smaller than most wardrobes. However, it's surprising what you can get used to and I quickly adapted to the compact and cosy space. The location is excellent, right by the local and regional transport hub including the train to Paris. The staff were great - typically French in being friendly and helpful. Overall 10/10.

Citadines is located right off the main shopping street. It's just a few blocks in, but it's silent in the rooms , the best of both worlds. We had a kitchen in the room, which was great even though we didn't need it in Lyon! There are tons of bouchons around the area, and it's a quick walk to the riverside. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Wifi was great. Overall, a great place to stay.

Hotel is value for money and in good location. Rooms adequately furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was quite a wide spread and promptly refilled. Our positive experience was marred by a couple of counterstaff on our last day: 1. On checking out, Reception claimed that despite our having booked 2 double rooms for 4 including breakfast, we had only paid for one breakfast. This was puzzling: why would we book 2 doubles with breakfast for only one pax? After we protested, they backed down and claimed the receptionist who checked us in had made a mistake. 2. We had booked through Reception a taxi to the station. Despite several reminders to Reception, taxi still did not show. Reception then offered alternative transport - a limousine service which coincidentally happened to be available and waiting. It would cost more. We declined and were preparing to hail a taxi off the streets when the booked taxi finally arrived.

Helpful staff, great room and fantastic location. We use Aagoda for all our travels and are generally happy because the reviews match our expectations. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the best shops and restaurants. Our room looked down into a large plaza which contained a subway entrance. We would have stayed longer but the hotel was sold out because of a soccer match upcoming the next day. Leyon is a wonderful city and the Carlton is right in the middle of best area.

This hotel is barely 2 minutes walk to the tram/metro/SNCF/bus station (Perrache). TCL info office is just right on the way, you will be sufficiently informed about the transport options wherever you want to go. It is a 2 star hotel so do not expect too much things: fancy meals, swimming pool, room service etc. If you are only looking for a comfortable room, fast internet then this should be the one to book. Only 1 suggestion, not to take the hotel breakfast, which comes as 8euro per day. It is not worth it.

Good things: - great location, immediately above Ampere-Victor Hugo station, with staircase with outside hotel and elevator very close by (within 30 metres) - extremely comfortable bed (firm enough) - large bathroom with heating element - 24hr reception with helpful staff Things that can be improved upon: - shower stall door -- some water tends to leak from under the door, which then causes part of the toilet to be wet. May prove a bit unsafe - no fridge/minibar Didn't try the food, not sure about quality, but looked ok. Overall, very value-for-money, will definitely choose to stay again next time in Lyon

It is the perfect hotel to stay in if you plan to explore Lyon. Located near the Lyon Perrache station, you just need to be wary of the signs on which exit you’ll take from the train station. The facilities are great, very clean and very comfortable. The place is spacious and the restaurant serves good food. Also, if you’ll travel by Flix Night Bus, the station would be in the front of the hotel. Hassle free with a very fair price.

Best location while in Lyon. It’s walking distance to Lyon’s attractions, shops, transportation, restaurants. Bottled water, coffee/tea, happy hour goodies is complimentary. The room, and toilet (love the tiles) is big with french rustic interiors, french window. Basic amenities available - towels, slippers, robe, shampoo, conditioners , bath soap, lotion, showercap, cotton & buds (no toothbrush though (i have to take note the next time I travel to Europe to bring toothbrush and toothpaste since all the hotels we stayed in Paris did not include this). The reception staff is helpful and accomodating. Umbrellas are available to borrow. Breakfast is good (love the yogurt, and freshly squeezed orange juice). Best of all, it has a lift (small but useful especially if you’re carrying big luggages, and qccompanied by a senior citizen). The only thing that’s amissed is the missing coffee on our third day,.

We spend two nights in this hotel. The overall experience was good. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. The neighborhood was quite and safe. The location was quite close to the main attractions of the city and easy to access. The only thing I would like to recommend the management to improve is to give staffs more training on English. It would be more effective for us to communicate and get help from them.

The hotel was under renovation during our visit in June 2015 so the carpark available was the few ones near the entrance of the hotel. We didn't felt that there were any disturbances from the renovation. The room had a huge bed and a cot for our baby but that left very little space for anything. The room was very modernly designed. In room dining food was not bad. The tram station was linked to the various malls and Lafayette.

I chose this hotel for its excellent location in central Lyon 2e arrondissement near Bellecour subway station. It's a short walk across the Saone river to the old town in one direction and across the Rhone in the other direction, and there are many excellent restaurants of every kind nearby. The street Hotel Elysee is on reminds me of 5th Ave. NYC for its many high-end shops. The hotel room itself was modest and spare. I avoided the narrow elevator because I am easily claustrophobic and felt very confined. Otherwise, staff were helpful and nice.

I really liked the location. About 10-15 minutes walk from Lyon Perrache station (which I prefer way more than the Part-Dieu) and 20 minutes to Hotel de Ville. It is an old building so you do hear the neighbour's door and shower etc, but I guess it is normal in this type of building. Even though it was on the main street, the room was quiet and I slept well. No tea making facility in the room. I didn't try the breakfast as 14 euros would be bit over my budget. Cafes are plenty nearby. Nice friendly staff.

I booked through Agoda for the price. I cannot believe the price, for 3 nights with breakfast included. I'm not sure if all the rooms are refurbished, but we were in a refurbished room. It was suberb. The fabrics etc were modern and stylish. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The bathroom seemed to be like a kit bathroom, like an all in cabin that was installed, but it was superb. One of the best features in the room was a state of the art computer with widescreen that had many features including TV, on demand movies and complimentary Internet access. I rate the location as excellent, this might not be classed as excellent for all, but for those who know Lyon, we arrived by train to Perrache station, and the hotel is 1 minute's walk from here. Even so, it is still only a 7/8 minute stroll to Place Bellecour and of course all the transport systems including Tram and Metro are at Perrache anyway. The only prob we had was a fault with the air con unit, which started leaking water during the 2nd night of 3 and we had to turn it off. This was then Sunday, so the hotel were unable to effect a repair, but we managed to get about 3 hours of air con on the final night before the water started leaking again. This did not affect the stay though - the temp was dropping anyway!!
