"We did not understand our payments bill (with taxes) there was also a confusion with another booking made and canceled prior to the new booking. While just trying to understand the bill the receptionist male was very defensive in his responses . I did not think the tone was appropriate or justified. When we were walking pass the reception he looked at us with a lot of hate. I did not understand this kind of behaviour. I actually told him i was not angry but just looking for an explanation for the bill so no reason to feel attacked. The traineer( calvin) was lovely though. He looked inconfortable with the response of the receptionist. He was not a good exemple for this trainee. We booked a taxi to the airport from the hotel. The taxi driver didnt even give us a proper receipt. The barhroom floor and walls had marks of humidity( black and yellow marks) we asked the cleaner to check it but it stayed that way the whole week.. the bedroom was clean though. "

"We chose this hotel because of the many recommendations on various sites and booked a room with two double beds and a river view. Overall our stay there was ok, but compared to the other hotels in NY where we had already stayed in it was nothing special for this price range. You could look over to the Staten Island Ferry Station und Governor's Island, that was the whole view. There seemed to be some construction work at night in the neighbourhood so it was really noisy. Some of the staff were super friendly but others seemed to ignore us and only greeted in return. Also the Check in was very unpersonal and hasty. For the water bottles in the room they are charging you 3$ unless you're a Gold Hilton Honors Member. It would have been a nice gesture if the first bottle would've been for free. The free cookies and water in the afternoon were great but they weren't refilled so you had to be quick. The room was small, very clean but the bathroom door doesn't really close and is a failure."

"After our first stay at this quaint inn 5 years ago, my review was full of 5 star praise. Now after our recent second stay with friends, it remains a 5 star inn. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely, well maintained and extremely clean. The rates which includes breakfast are reasonable for NYC. Breakfast included is very cost effective and a big time saver. The breakfast buffet with ample seating included fruits ,cereals, bagels, a waffle maker ,pastries and hard boil eggs. The luggage storage area is also a plus. The Inn is within an easy walk to WTC, Wall St. Bull and ferry to Statue of Liberty. Right behind the Inn is Stone St. ---a cobble stone walking area full of lively pubs with indoor and outdoor seating. If traveling with others be sure to ask for rooms on same floor. Quieter rooms are located away from Stone St."
