Very basic, not worth the money”
This is a very basic hotel and not worth the cost. There is no elevator/lift and no amenities. No coffee/tea maker, water, or any convivences. The rooms are extremely small. Staff was rude and fighting with each other, checking in at night was eerie and made me feel like I was in a bad part of town and the entire first floor had a horrible smell. The only plus to this hotel is the location close to the train station. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to friends.

Needs upgrade”
Location is good but I think the facility needs some upgrade and no English TV channels

Had a great time”
I especially love the location. Very near the La Chapelle metro station. (If you come from Airport, go to Gare Du Nord, then walk inside the station towards La Chappelle station). The surrounding area have lots of places to eat (especially Indian, Turkish, or Halal) and many groceries shop. Some would feel the place a bit dodgy (as some review would say), but they'd only feel like that if they're not used to being in a very multi-cultural area, and that is exactly what the surrounding area is like. Just be careful of your stuff, just like you would protect it anywhere else. The staff were very helpful and friendly, I actually forgotten my passport at the reception area and they kept it for me the whole day until I returned to the hotel. You can leave your luggage there if you need it, which is a great bonus. Didn't try the food service though, but overall it was a great stay. Thank you!

Clean economy hotel”
Older building, but cleaned regularly, close to Gare du Nord. Good to stay for a day or two. Would recommend for traveler looking for basic accommodation, with clean bed, bathroom. Above average compared to other economy hotels I stayed in France, and other countries.

Reception clueless”
The hotel itself is well located near Gare du Nord and metro station. The lift door was not working on top floor so I had to climb stairs with luggage. Asked reception about TV having no reception signal, he said he is only receptionist not technician, not his problem. Asked him if there are French restaurant nearby he said need to go two metro stops. I found out there are a few within walking distance less than 10 minutes. Lastly I asked how to get to Gare du Lyon from hotel, a female receptionist told me a complicated route via changing metro lines with many stops. I found it is again a short walk to Gare du Nord and two stations away via train to Gare du Lyon. The receptionists work in Paris, how clueless are they. Lastly maybe the Chinese owners need to spend some money to fix lift, TV and a coffee table top that just fall off unscrewed to base.

A place to sleep”
Pros: perfect for la chapelle and Stalingrad metro and gar du Nord.. gets you all over Paris. A nice pub/cafe round the corner ( bistro 38). Staff were friendly. Cons: lots and lots and I mean lots of dodgy characters about, weirdly no hassle. Would not recommend for ladies or anyone nervous or lacks confidence. Not a romantic place but perfect for a group of guys or a guy travelling solo like myself. Room wasn't cleaned or bedding changed or towels changed in 4 nights. Room wasn't cleaned when I first arrived although bedding Nd towels were clean. Overall I enjoyed my stay

Excellent”
The man at the reception desk was by far the nicest person we encountered in Paris France. The only confusion was with the address, 7-9 Rue Pajol; it’s just 7. But besides that it was amazing! Comfy, clean beds, amazing shower pressure and great service.

Avoid”
Annoying wait at the door for reception to press 'open', whether going in or out. Room was very basic for the price, and the toilet flush didn't work. No feeling of welcome from staff, who spend most of the time on the 'phone. Although good location in terms of proximity to Gare du Nord/ La Chapelle metro, it is in an area where pickpockets are watching you like a hawk.

worst hotel that I ever visited”
to be honest..I never really will comment about any hotel, however for this I really need to. my entire travelling, holidays, work visit n all..I never ever come across such a hotel. on the day of arrival we was warmly welcomed by a lady which is sweet and tried her best to give first impression to us. the lift was the smallest, can only fit 1 person( u can go in 2 only if u both a romantic couple coz the small space will make u to kiss each other) once we entered the room, the bed spread was in used condition, and pillow was in the middle so we thought thats their hipotel style, the room bit smelly, okay for 2 fren to stay together, bathroom door cant close properly and the toilet have moles everywhere with small shower place. The TV have no volume after we tried to DIY and check all the remote and system. we went down and there is another women was sitting there, so we told her about the TV, she was doing a face like who cares and told us she cannot do anything about it, as thou we paid not for the TV kind of reply. We got disappointed and walked off. Night the noise from outside was just too much, toooo much...I can't really sleep peacefully for that 2 night thou. Next day we Came back after our shopping at night and found out someone entred the room make up bed but nothing new than the improper look, than cleaned our waste and throw the trash bin in the middle of the room, toilet was left unclean and the towel unchanged. its worst than staying at some hostel, I believe if u can add of few more euro and pls stay in other hotel, not this. I really don't know how come this hotel can be in Agoda. This hotel Hipotel gare du nord also have the name of meryl hotel. Please be aware bout this hotel. for cleanliness I don't even wanna rate but ago asking me to rate, so I give the 1 which they really don't deserve it.

Do not stay at this hotel”
It was terrible. The elevator could only fit one person. The bathroom smelled like a rat died in it so we did not even take a bath and risk suffocation. The guy charged for wifi for 1 device. And it is not close to the Gare du Nord train station as it's name suggests. It's actually much closer to La Chapelle train station, so we ended up walking so far with our luggage trying to locate it. Neighborhood is in the area where refugees (accdg to the girl who pointed us to the hotel's direction) are camped.

No value for money. No space to sit on toilet except sideways...”
Room size fine. Reasonably new bed, bedding clean. No space to sit on toilet, except sideways.... Beat up room, including dirty floors and discoloring/other stuff in ceiling corners. I had low expectations to begin with, but was still disappointed. Mostly because this hotel clearly uses "surge pricing". On this visit most hotels in Paris were booked, and my rate at hotel of €194/night was about 3 times higher than actual market value. Good luck out there.

Not bad!”
Advantages: Internet WiFi. Near to the Metro. Carrefour market near the hotel Friendly staff especially Jalal and Adel. Disadvantages: No parking for the hotel! I asked the policeman where can I park my car ? He said anywhere! but you can park your car in your responsibility. I left it for free near the hotel for 3 days and no one talked with me at all. Rooms are small. May be in the first reaction you will think that neighbors looks like not good but don't be afraid. No one will talk with you or touch you. Just because there is African restaurants so they come there. Also, the ploice car always in the street. I didn't take the breakfast. So, I have no idea about it.

Horrible hotel”
Highlights - The receptionist was very inattentive and unfit for such job. The room was very dirty and smelly, the floors cracky and very small bathroom. The lift was the smallest ever. Even one person and one trolley bag is very very difficult to fit. Doesn't make sense to keep so small lift. And most important, the location, the hotel carries the name of Gare du Nord, which is actually nowhere near to that station. It very far and also shady area. There are so many far better hotels very near to Gare du Nord with the same price.

Clean room, good bed and pillows, good lighting, quiet area at night. Small but useful elevator.”
I read some reviews that said the staff were unfriendly, but I encountered the complete opposite. Very friendly front desk staff and very nice housekeeper! Only con was a pervasive smell of sewage in the bathroom, requiring keeping the door closed. This problem is not unique to this hotel. I smelled similar sewage issues in other places, including private apartments and restaurants. But the smell could be quite nauseating. Would recommend putting air fresheners in the bathroom.

It wasn’t a clean place. ”
I wouldn’t recommend. I couldn’t sleep a full night. I ended up booking an earlier than expected train out of Paris from being at that place.
