The hotel's location near subway stations, Wall Street, and tourist spots received praise from guests. The excellent staff service was also well-received. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and equipped with great beds and pillows for a pleasant stay.
During peak hours, the elevator can be slow and warm. Housekeeping service has been inconsistent. Some rooms are smaller and have an old-fashioned design according to a few guests.

I had a great stay at the DoubleTree Hilton in the Financial District. The place felt super cozy the moment I checked in, and the location honestly couldn’t be better. Being downtown means you’re surrounded by vibrant spots, great energy, and endless food options within a short walk. The hotel itself is well-kept, comfortable, and gives you exactly what you expect for the money — maybe even a bit more. Overall, proper value for money and a solid pick if you want convenience, comfort, and a great neighborhood right at your doorstep.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree Hilton. I got a good nightly room only rate through Agoda & the room was excellent for the price in Downtown NYC. It was clean, spacious, quiet & bright. I had a view from the 26th floor, OK it was of the office building opposite, but I could just see the river & sunshine. Cleaning staff were excellent, kept the room spotless with clean towels daily. Reception staff were fine, thought they seemed a bit harried & were short with their replies, but guess they are kept busy. I was given a couple of small bottles of water, a bag of potato crisps & an energy bar at check-in, but apart from that there was no other free drinking water. Thought there could have been a couple of small bottles each day but nothing was offered. Location was brilliant, with Battery Park & Wall Street just around the corner. Lots to see within walking distance, plus a number of subways stations close by, couldn’t be more convenient. The area is surprisingly quiet, with a few convenience stores, cafes & pubs close by. A great breakfast option is DJ’s food cart at the end of Stone Street, open Monday-Friday mornings. He made delicious take away breakfast rolls & strong coffee at a good price. I’d definitely choose this hotel again when I return to the city.
Paid *** USD/ night for king size bedroom and I think that's a good deal for manhattan financial district area. Near to train several train stations and safe area to walk back at night after going around mid town. Room was sufficient. Enough for 2 to "manoeuvre" around. They gave free drip coffee capsules. Not bad to just stay comfortably. Once again in bold- Manhattan area. As for the many negative reviews regarding the lift and rude staff, I think need to take it with some perspective. Out of the 6 nights I stayed I only encountered more than 20 mins kind of slow lift on my last day at about 9.30am, Friday. I guess that's one peak period when many ppl are checking out. The remaining days it was pretty decent. About 5 mins. The 90% of the staff were actually approachable and friendly. I only encountered rude attitude from a senior staff on the last day. Dunno whether my last day was just meant to be a bad day. Loll! So can really look past. The hotel has much more positives than negatives.
The hotel is conveniently located on Stone street, Financial District of NYC. It’s walking distance to the Staten Island and Ellis island ferries, the Raging Bull and NYSE, One world observatory, The 9/11 memorial and Trinity church. There are lots of dining options just steps away from the hotel. And it’s much quieter compared to the midtown hotels. Great value for money and a good place to explore downtown.

“Great value for money if you can get a room at a decent price”
I stayed here twice in January 2025. The hotel, like others in the Financial District, provides great value for money compared to the rest of Manhattan if you can get a room at a decent price like I did. The hotel is near several subway stations which was very convenient if you needed to go uptown--or anywhere else in the city, tbh. The area doesn't have much of a nightlife but that did not bother me as I don't go out anymore. The rooms are a bit dated but are clean. The staff are also helpful enough but not overly friendly which was fine with me.
