This is my 3rd stay at Casa Leticia directly across from People's Park in the city because I love the place. If you are looking for the latest flashy hotel which you can brag about with your instagram pics in front of the pool then go somewhere else and expect to pay a lot more for it. If you are looking for excellent service in an elegant classy hotel at a great price then this is your obvious choice. The staff are truly wonderful, the rooms are simple and beautiful, the location is hard to beat. I will keep basing myself here whenever I get to Davao.
A surprisingly good stay in front of People's Park”
I was looking for an accommodation that is quite accessible, and this is terrific. The location is excellent, just across People's Park and walking distance to the night market, Ateneo de Davao, Cor Jesu College in one direction and the cathedral in another direction. Anywhere farther (wharf going to Samal, etc.) and one would need to ride a taxi or take public transportation. I booked a room for two nights and I could not entirely complain. I got the room with a view of the park in front (there's not really a view to have) and was initially worried that it might be noisy the next morning. To my surprise, I didn't hear honks and other traffic noise. What was noisier was the closing of doors of other rooms for breakfast. It is obvious that this is an old building/hotel, but there is effort of them trying to upgrade their facilities (an example was their attempt to switch to key cards). There is hot water on demand, which I greatly liked, and cable and internet are alright, not excellent but acceptable. The entire room is carpeted, and the photos are exactly as the room is. There is a mini fridge that I wasn't able to use (it isn't stocked) Perhaps if I stayed longer, yes. Drinking water is provided along the corridor. This is great if one will go around the city; just refill your water bottle. The same is for the room: you can get hot, lukewarm, or cold water. Glasses are provided on the table inside the room for you to use (there are also glasses in the bathroom for brushing your teeth). There is limited parking provided in case you have a visitor or friend who can tour you around. Breakfast is provided, and the food was quite good. I though did not really know what were all of the options since the waiter simple mentioned to me "bangus, tapa, tocino" and "coffee or tea" without leaving me much choice. The hotel itself has a restaurant (separate from the hotel) quite a distance from it. I ate there with a friend. It was quite pricey, but the food tasted great. In terms of what could have been better: 1) room slippers would have been a big plus. 2) There is no bidet, but again it is not really a new hotel. A soap dish/plate also would have been great. The soap bar provided was just on the counter. 3) There were coffee sachets (since the room was booked for 2 people, 2 sets) in the room, yet I thought another set would be given for the second evening/third day, but my stay ended without this replenished. 4) Another point is in the restaurant. A breakfast buffet would be absolutely outstanding, but there was just an a la carte with bangus, tocino, tapa just mentioned by the waiter. A menu could have been provided for the included breakfast, also this would help let the customers know what is included and not (extra rice, coffee, etc.). I wanted to have more coffee but was at a loss as to what to do. For my first breakfast, the coffee mug had lipstick stains, obviously of the previous user. I had to call the attention of the waiter about it, and he was apologetic. 5) the staff seem nice but at times lost with what to do. Not a serious problem, perhaps it is just the general laidback disposition in the entire city. Overall: Would I stay here again next time I am in Davao? Yes, especially if the price is (more) competitive and as they continue to improve their facilities.

We stayed just for a business trip. Days before the check-in, email correspondence was not so quickly answered for each question. However, once we checked in, the staff was attentive and accommodating to our small, various requests. The shower's water pressure was weak but hot enough to be a comfortable shower. The breakfast was reasonably tasty and plenty. We recommend this place if you enjoy a nostalgically antique business or private stay.

We always pick this hotel every year we visited back Davao city. This time is different with the in laws joined our trip. Thanks to Ralph from the kitchen for being cool with Aussie humour of my in laws, he became the most favourite Filipino. Great hospitality from other staff from receptionist to the cleaners. Just the elevator is a bit trouble for my mother in law who has problem with walking because the lift closes too quickly and she ended up spilling the milk all over the elevator and stuck in between the door. But all in all, still great place to stay in DC and will keep coming back as long as the service is still the same.
